Human Growth Hormone and Aging

 Today, there are many substances that can enhance immune response, bring greater resistance to disease and infection. What if there were one that could also reduce body fat without dieting, increase muscle mass with exercise, and bolster energy, strength, and stamina?

How about if it also improved bone density and skin tone?

When DNA is not repaired, subsequent cells carry a damaged blueprint, resulting in ongoing symptoms of weakened immunity.

Growth hormone and IGF make it possible for DNA to better repair itself before cell division. This means that new cells don't repair the damage sustained by the originating DNA. Like the other important hormones (estrogen, DHEA, etc.), hGH levels also decline with age. Production peaks in adolescence at 780 mcg in 24 hours. Then it declines steadily, at the rate of about 14 percent each decade after age 30. to sixty, production rate is reduced by half.

When we reach eighty, only about 25 mcg are still produced. During approximately the same time, our liver, kidneys, brain, and pancreas atrophy by 30 percent. The significant negative effects that can be observed in aging people (increases fat deposition, a reduction in energy, and decreased immunity) are all directly related to diminished levels of hGH. In 1985, recombinant DNA technology yielded synthetic hGH. Since that time, supplies have been virtually unlimited. With this breakthrough, children and adults identified as hGH deficient have been receiving the help they need. Further, the FDA broadened the medical application of hGH to include the treatment of persons suffering from wasting due to AIDS/HIV. 

According to the researchers at the Medical College of Wisconsin at Milwaukee, six months of growth hormone therapy were equivalent in magnitude to the regression of aging by 10-20 years! Among the effects, participants lost an average of 14 percent body fat and gained 8.8 percent lean body mass.  Non-Prescriptive 

Non- prescriptive alternatives are far less costly than injections. They include homeopathic remedies, oral sprays, secrtalogues, and colostrum. Here's a natural method to increase your growth hormone production to build lean muscle mass and burn fat

Although weight training can help you burn fat build lean muscle mass without a change in diet, you'll achieve dramatic results faster when you couple your training with good nutritional know-how. For the bodybuilder, an important factor to consider when designing a diet is growth hormone production. As you probably know, growth hormone can help increase lean muscle mass, and high levels help keep fat at a minimum. But did you know that diet can increase your body's natural product of this important bodybuilding hormone?

Growth hormone is produced naturally in our bodies. It is at its highest levels while we are children and adolescents. As we age, production decreases.

Many scientists theorize that this is a major factor responsible for middle-age weight gain and loss of lean muscle tissue. Others attribute the reduction in growth hormone to decreased vitality and sex drive. Many "rejuvenation" clinics offer growth hormones supplementation as a way to restore many of the qualities of youth.                   Increasing Growth Hormone Production

 Growth hormone is produced when we sleep. For optimum growth hormone production your last meal of the evening should be high in protein and low in fat and simple sugars.  Avoid meals high in fat and carbs in the evening. Since protein coming from foods such as: chicken, fish and red meat contain fats and need time to digested and bean and rice are high in carbs, an ideal protein meal would be a protein replacement drink.

A protein replacement drink to use in the evening which contains no simple sugars, is nearly fat free and is loaded with high quality protein.  Several studies have shown that fasting two hours before bedtime can help growth hormone production. The deeper and more soundly you sleep, the better.

Avoiding exercise, sugars, alcohol and caffeine two hours before bedtime is prudent advice. Another important factor to monitor is the glycemic index  of the foods you eat. This index is usually based on a scale of 0 to 110. Glycemic levels are controlled by insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas that helps you store fat and digest sugar.

A high glycemic level results when you  eat high in simple sugars; a low glycemic level results when you eat foods high in protein and complex carbohydrates.

Studies have shown that if you keep your glycemic index low during the day (eating foods under 50),  you can increase your growth hormone secretion.

If you want more information on food choices, there are several elaborate charts available that will tell you the glycemic index of foods. These can be obtained through a dietitian, and are available in more detailed books about nutrition you can find at your local library.

To lose weight while building muscle, protein intake should be about 30-40 percent of your total calories. Unfortunately, many of the foods that contain protein, such as red meat, are high in saturated fat. 

Also, many of the popular mass gainer protein powders contain large amounts of simple sugars. You should look for high protein, low carbs, fat and not high calories. One solution is a protein with between 20-30 gms. of protein, 1-10 gms of carbs and less than 2 gms of fat. Certain supplements also help increase your growth hormone products.

For  maximum results, try stacking L-Glutamine with Creatine.   In addition to diet, another way to increase your body's natural growth hormone production is by creating high lactate levels in the muscle through weight training. This means you should perform each of your weight training exercises for a prolonged duration (about 60-90 seconds) with seldom more than 60 seconds between sets.
